Have questions?  We have answers!

When will you show up to film?  This will usually be discussed beforehand.  Depending on the length of your preparations throughout the day, we want to arrive as early as possible.  However, since the payments can only cover a certain amount of hours, it may be necessary to arrive at a specific time so we can cover the entire wedding and reception.  For example, if you have paid for 8 hours of shooting, and your reception expects to last until 10, we could not begin filming until 2 or so.  However there may also be times that we are easily able to arrive earlier and will start filming without an additional charge.  This can all be discussed, and hourly charges will only be incurred if it is longer than the initially agreed time.

What all do you film?  Hopefully you have seen a sample highlight video from a previous wedding.  As you see there, we may try to film the venues, dressing, decoration, ceremony, reception, as well as possibly interviews with the bride and groom.  We can film rehearsal dinners for an additional charge.  Please remember that not every wedding is the same, so we may not get the exact same shots as a previous wedding video.  However we do our best to ensure that the video is as beautiful as your wedding day itself.

Where are you at during the ceremony?  Ideally we will be using two cameras.  One will be stationary on a tripod aimed towards the pastor and groom.  The other will be operated by a videographer who will be all over the place.  As the bridesmaids and bride come down the aisle, we will typically be at the front of the church shooting up the aisle.  After the bride has made her way down, we will move to the outside of the people and be moving around for differing shots.

How long will it take to edit?  The videos will all take different amounts of time.  While it would be nice to be able to give a specific time range, the weddings can differ greatly.  You can expect it to be at least 4 weeks before the highlights video is done.  It may seem like a while, but these videos require upwards of 60-70 hours of editing to finish.  Also, other variables may affect the editing time; both personal and professional schedules may make the editing process slower or faster at times.  I will typically keep you updated on the process as it comes along.

Which video will we get to see first?  Usually I will begin work on the highlights video first.  When it is finished I will post it online and make it available to watch.  The second video, the full ceremony and essentially “raw footage” of speeches, etc, will usually be a few more weeks to finish, depending on my schedule.  The highlights video is what you will want to show people more often than the full video, so we get that one to you first.

Can we pick the music in the videos?  I wish we could say yes to this, but we actually will pick the music to match the video.  The legalities of using certain songs or music in a video, even just for a personal video like these, puts us in a spot where we have to legally purchase music to use.  The songs we purchase are paid for by your price, so you do not have to worry about additional prices for songs.  However, I will only pick songs that match very well with the emotion of the video over all, and that aid in creating the quality of video you expect.
